These are fully hand embroidered sets of 6 place mats, made by women as they work from home. The embroidery colors highlight and complement the carefully chosen plain fabric that frames the mat. Our mats have a diamond design pattern embroidered in cross stitch, in a quiet yellow and a highlight blue on a rustic and natural jute fabric, and is framed with 2 lines of kantha embroidery in black, to complement the border of the mat. This striking and elegant color combination is sure to light up your table. Painstakingly embroidered by our artisans, each set takes a few days to make. The backing and border are in a plain black cotton fabric, elegantly matching the color theme and framing the design. Our placemats are approximately 14" wide and 20" long. We suggest dry cleaning for longer life, but they fare well in machine wash as well. Ohrna patronizes jute because it is a natural vegetable fiber, biodegradable, naturally decomposable and strong and durable. The expired fiber is recyclable more than once. And we package all our products in up-cycled saris!
