The village Molela, 50 km north of Udaipur in Southern Rajasthan is known in the area as a potters village as there are about 30 families from the Kumhar caste producing terracotta art. Dinesh family is the leading among all the other potters. It produces a range of terracotta tiles, from devotional plaques to large panels depicting rural village scenes and smaller items such as temple bells and domestic ware
ABOUT SHOP OWNER
Terracotta Artist Dinesh Chandra Kumhar has practiced the tradition of making terracotta plaques of traditional Hindu Deities. He produces a range of pottery goods from rural village scenes and smaller items such as temple handbells and domestic ware. He experimented terracotta tiles with new stories too.
