Material : Organic Kala cotton handspun and Handloom fabric with motifs in natural indogo and Madder dyed yarns

Desi (indigenous) cotton seed called Kala cotton grow naturally in Kutchch region of Western India. Thankfully they have survived onslaught of Bt cotton hybrid variety intoduction in India. Today, Almost 85% cotton crop is Bt cotton in India.
Kala cotton takes little effort - natural manure and rain; no artificial irrigation required.
Hand spinning is almost dead in this region as weavers got easier option of machine made kala cotton cones.
This stole is having hand spun yarn in weft sourced from Khamir NGO. Warp is still mill made yarn of kala cotton. Woven in ethnic design of Extra weft, using Natural Indigo dye and Indian Madder dye, Ms Champa made this with love ... Ultrasoft and with no chemical process, it stands as a unique product in organic cotton category.

We make casual dresses, tops and stoles using organic Kala Cotton (desi kapaas) with khadi process where yarn is spun by hand and not machines.
We also make hand embroidery based draped sarees and dresses in contemporary fashion. These are unique dresses that I drape myself in my studio. Each design is one piece only.
