The distinguishing characteristic of Indian painting is the rhythmic, sinuous line. The same line which is seen in the paintings at Ajanta—despite the vivid colors, the line controls and brings to life the myriad forms. This liveliness of line is what attracts me, and in my paintings I’ve strived to bring to life this very line.
