INTRODUCTION
My work is oriented to the exploration of natural phenomena and their impact on the physical environment. The relationship between growth and transformation and the complexity of the structures they engender, guide my practice.
My earlier works based on time and space. The brand logos and various other symbols we come across, suggest some directions, time, volume or scale. The imagery is suggestive of landscape elements and textures with multiple readings.
Forms are used to express aspects of reality or fallings, which other can easily connect to visual forms, are also a kind of language that people connect to more easily.
Most of my new works are also related to personal space and incidents. They reflect various issues that I have been dealing with.
Land has been in focus in my family for reasons of dispute. My family also faced re-habitation during the separation of Bangladesh. Space is important to me, in my work and in my life.
I work on many pieces at the same time. I go back and making installations, wall works and drawings. I work either in small or big scale. I feel that this organic process of making things, allows me to do research, to challenge myself and to renew my work constantly. I get my inspiration through nature, architecture and design. Following the phenomena of the universe, I induce movement in materials in order to create natural architectonics.
I focus on their specific properties color, structure and plasticity through manipulations layering for growth and accretion. The fluidity of molten rubber is symbolic of the ease of living and various life processes, it also conveys movement. Spatial temporality is a recurring motif in these with motley objects in unknown hybrid environment pulsating with raw energy.
The objectification of human organs interspersed with trees and animals are meant to emblematize what they symbolize rather than their respective functions. For instance the brain, which is a central processing organ of the human body, is indicatively lonesome and manifestly ‘snaky’; it is unfathomable, oppressive and the same time is capable of great serenity. The human heart which pumps blood is seen as the life giver root transmitting soil nutrients to the growing tree, it is also the wishing tree which is perceived to be the stimulator of every feeling, hope and desire.
Complex chooses of bizarre activities that are going on this distilled landscape are inhabited by 2 birds and a heart-shaped tree. The symbiotic relationship between the blood pumping organ and the perched bird is symbolic of life and death. The healthy shrub and the robust bird perched on a treetop is the symbol if life and vitality where as the frail looking tree and the falling bird is symptomatic of decline and subsequent decay, the two vagaries associated with death.
Seemingly in the empty African landscape, the geographic positions/areas are carriers of life. The central unit of social existence which is the family epitomizes the transition in society from simple to complex. The young ones in the shade of a leafless but a large tree is a symbol of growth and progression irrespective of life’s circumstances. From a simple society we are witnessing gradual advancement towards complex society based on a web of relations both outside and inside of one’s zone of habitat. The geographical boundaries and demarcations are mirrors of delimitation of spatial entities.
The Arial view of landscapes has an application of linear qualities , light color play a major role in creating the whole space of interiors as well as exterior ,kind of illusion.
ABOUT SHOP OWNER
i hail from Vadodara (Gujarat). I'm most innovative and creative painter who has is own say in the field of painting and his concern towards social subjects as development and environment. My works can be designated modern having an insight of Ritualistic Society. They are based on my thoughts through Years of immature learning converted into matured insight. I was always wandering in space created by myself and asking humbly about space for my well being. I'm concerned about my own living, yet my concern is about humanity.
My approach is clearly be felt in his works. My silent cry can be heard in hearts of viewers. My simple question about this space, takes viewers to the Global (For that Viewers are required to be sensitive) space where greed has divided people into their ownness. I'm more worried about the universal Space.
Famous Painter Van Gough once said that Future painter will be of colors. Unconsciously me, Govind Biswas proves to be a member of the same Family.
