INTRODUCTION

As raised in traditional farmer's family of rural Maharashtra; I have been familiar with ritual elements like jungles,catles,flowers, bushes etc. That influenced my artistic interest. I am professionally doctor and successfully providing medical services in rural Maharashtra scince 10 years. I accidentally came across of paper carving and passionately following it last three years. Paper carving is old Chinese folk art accepted by different cultures with different styles all over globe. In India it's called as Sanjhi. It's slow art which demands tremendous patience, concentration and hard work. I develop my own designs without use of tools like computer and printer. I use big sheets (even rolls)of acid free paper for their long life quality. I carve with my fine surgical blades. It takes more than 500 hours to finish my single art work. Designs are loaded with mythical figures; balanced positive and negative spaces; right thickness of background; fine and perfect cuts make art lovers to appreciate my work. Thank!
