INTRODUCTION
Ritu's artwork takes a critical view on contemporary life of a humanbeing. She explores the concept of day dreaming. The Dreams in her paintings are the materialistic dreams through which she develop theconcept behind dreams.
She use to correlate dreams with money because not all but almost all dreams are directly related to money.
Her works reproduces the signs and forms which we have seen on the currency notes. She makes paintings with a conceptual approach by which she trying to develop forms that follow not only logical criteria but also based on subjective associations and formal parallels which incite the viewer to make new personal associations.
She uses variety of materials like acrylic paint, waterproof ink, charcoal etc. and processes in each work, although there are not always material similarities between the different works.
ABOUT SHOP OWNER
I am an Indian artist from Indore, Madhya Pradesh who was the recipient of the Meera Kala Award 2014 and Vakankar State Award 2012. I earned my BFA (2012) and MFA (2014) from Government Institute of Fine Arts, Indore. I took part in several group exhibitions and fairs throughout India. My work was selected to be presented at the 55th National Exhibition of Art in New Delhi in 2014. She attended residency programs at Space 118 in 2016 and All India Artist Residency Program at Dehgam (Ahmadabad) organised by International Creative Art Center, Mumbai in 2015.
