From a national level badminton player and budding economics graduate, to an award winning artist, sculptor and entrepreneur, Madhuri’s artistic evolution reflects her personal journey. Beginning with figurative imagery in the late 80s and moving towards abstraction in the new millennium, Madhuri’s catalogue is exuberant. Her predilection for oils is in harmony with her philosophy of living in the present. By 2002, her now popular “assemblages” were born, featuring found metal scraps and leftovers from her practice. Madhuri’s works have travelled the world, showing in more than forty solo shows, over a 100 group shows, and have been part of art fairs in New York, London, Singapore, Miami, Dubai and Rotterdam. Her creations are in the collections of renowned Indian institutions, corporates, hotels, aesthetes, corporate tycoons and prestigious business families. Their unwavering support as well as accolades from prominent personalities and institutions impetus have helped her reinvent.
