I am a self taught semi-representational-abstract artist which is my forte, but also paint old masters, particularly. Norman Rockwell, whom I adore.

Achievements
I sculpt & write poetry for which Last year I received 3 Recognition & Special Achievement Awards of 3 SILVER TROPHY’s & 1 Crystal trophy from THE INTERNATIONAL LIBRARY OF POETS-USA & 3 years running I have been nominated for Poet of the year & have a fellowship from The International Society of Poets.
I also write children’s stories many of which have been published by Forward Press UK
 
Some times I wake at 3am with an idea for a painting and there is me in the wee hours of the morning paint brush in hand in my verandah overlooking the city & the silent hush of time … I love the heady feeling… the rush I experience at being one of the select few awake at this part of the glorious day when the rest of the world sleeps & paint or sculpt amid the chirping of my budgies and gorgeous little fur-baby Missy Miyake whom I love to bits and pieces.

I really get a kick out of seeing someones face light up when they see a painting that they particularly like & want it’s great & satisfying to see someone get as much enjoyment out of it as I did painting it.

I paint mainly on stretched canvas for bigger paintings but also work on canvas board for smaller paintings. I paint in Oils though acrylics are my preferred medium as the paint dries faster hence I finish the painting faster giving me more time to start another painting. I get my inspiration from the color of nature and ideas from just about anything that takes my fancy… I take my painting tips from the great Wassily Kandinsky & Alfred Gockel and am very passionate about the work I do. Tamara de Lempicka is also a great favorite of mine…
