I was born in Sonada, West Bengal and brought up in Tezpur, Assam, where I grew up, surrounded by the treasures of nature, appreciating and dreaming about finer things of life. I studied fine arts specialising in Painting from Apeejay Institute of Design, New Delhi and completed my masters in Ceramic and Glass Design from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. NID opened me to a different and a multi-disciplinary perspective of design where I got sensitised towards crafts and developed a passion for creating and discovering the beautifully unique and carefully made things.
I have a natural penchant for working with the old, the young, or the underprivileged. Although I am blessed with considerable creative & artistic talents, I believe in devoting myself to an occupation that shows concern for the betterment of the community.
