I was born in Bhubaneswar. My father was a renowned artist, designer and an art teacher in Odisha. Pursing art had always been encouraged in my home. All my siblings are also interested in painting. Being into an art background family I consciously resisted all attempts at becoming an artist initially, but at the final year of graduation saw my resolve weakening. I then went on to earn a degree in Fine Arts from Chandigarh. I belong to the breed of artists who came from the provincial towns of India - rooted in traditions and sporting a fresh outlook. I been influenced by tribal and folk traditions of Odisha and more over from my father's paintings; at the same time being aware of the trends in the Art World. I later moved to Hyderabad after marriage, where I started learning paper quilling crafts and Thai Clay Art.
