Born on 7th January, 1972, Smt. Amita Dutta has been suffering from bilateral sensorineural loss of hearing. She was asked to quit school in 1990 after class 9th as they did not have any facilities for teaching deaf students. With the family support she completed her schooling from National Open School followed by 3 years diploma course in Interior Design in 1997. She enriched herself with knowledge of English language, American Sign Language, computers, accounts, sports, travelling, to become a woman of confidence. She did Diploma in Art & Craft in 2008 got Certificate of Training by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India in March 2010.

A small skill learnt during her course, i.e.,paintings done with COFFEE as a medium to paint, became her source of inspiration. Her innovation and creative satisfaction got reflected into her work making people call them “Happy Paintings”.. She received ovation for her talent and creativity at her exhibitions and sales, at Indian and International events by people and media. She gave an aided talk on AIR and TV show about her paintings. Her works were exhibited at national and international events are are part of many homes and offices in India, developed countries.

Amita Dutta is a true example of “Can Do It “spirit and created a niche for herself as an artist and entrepreneur despite her limitations.
