ABOUT SELLER
Anuradha Nalapat is a professional artist based in Bangalore and has exhibited her paintings throughout India. She has chosen the visual medium and the written word to explore and delve into the mind for an understanding of the self. She is a published author and poet and her stories and poetry have been published in journals like the Indian Literature and the South Asian review. She has been working with children conducting creative art workshops using art more as a therapeutic tool. She uses modules that help explore the psyche and engages them in an understanding of emotions. She considers herself a chronicler of the mind, plumbing the depths, pricing out and erasing structured memory capsules. In the process she says she tastes freedom, nature, creativity, love, god particle…call it by whatever name. For her the process of art is quite like an alchemist’s, converting the raw material of life into gold- into understanding. But she reiterates that the conversion happens not by adding on, but by losing...the more you erase the more it shines through. In her series of works titled ‘Earth dates the Sky’ she explores the idea of a regenerative ‘cycle’ and the play of the ‘Opposites’ that keeps one within the cyclical movement. She emphasizes the wonder and magic of the process of creativity with titles like “Whoa! Whoa! and Wham! Fluid Light! Her interest and fascination for the Phi ratio and the Patterns that connect us resulted in an exhibition titled ‘Tortoise Nautilus Venus and Us’ a panel discussion called ‘Dame Chance/Sir Reason?’ and a book “The little book of Serendipity’ contributed by artists, writers, scientists, doctors, social entrepreneurs- people from varied professions.
