In Shibpur-Howrah, a small hamlet, on the outskirts of Kolkata, away from the city lights, in a secluded part of the world, lived a boy. He spent his days reading books, full of wonder, between the spirit of exploration and the musings of a fantasy world that only existed in his books and his curious mind, his own universe, full of secret passages and mysterious buildings. His curiosity found its cure amongst his father's brethren, a group of intellectuals- the literary and artistic kind. Poets, filmmakers, journalists, all inspired him to think beyond the boundaries of academic learning and made him seek out the arts very early in life. One could say that he revelled in his experiences. He found freedom in being a part of different groups of people, different worlds, real as well as fantasy, sometimes as a bystander, mostly protected, but definitely an active member. His teenage years were the beginning of his adventurous life.
