Born in 1967 Shuvendu Sarkar did his graduation from Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata in 1990. Having developed a realistic approach to city-scaping, more or less in the water colours tradition of West Bengal (India), he makes good use of the light and shadow chiaroscuro in his works.
