Plastic is a real threat! As conscious users and makers, we at Dehaati, have come up with these terracotta water bottles, which are light, trendy, yet rugged.
Kumbhars in Kachchh traditionally used to make numerous pots and vessels for storing, carrying and serving water. Bhadhak, a traditional water bottle is one of those. It’s unusual form, beautiful usage by the local communities and braided body makes it more like a piece of art.
Our water bottles are an inspiration from Bhadak, a product that was gracefully used and carried by the pastoral communities of the region. It was braided with local yarns and materials to avoid contact with harsh sun in the desert, while keeping the water cool.
People then were not ready to live an easy life and hence their value systems were different. To help and serve the convenience of an urban user, these bottles are made in sizes that are handy and easy to carry. The braided body helps in giving a good cushioning, hence preventing any kind of damage
