The Kalahasti style developed around the temples with their patronage. As a result it has a distinct religious identity and thrives on mythological themes. The attractive blend of colors on the fabrics usually portrays characters from the Indian mythology.
Although the demand for the block-printed fabrics has continued to our times, it needs help from Patrons to revive the Kalamkari centers. Due to lack of patronage, few craftsmen now work full time and are no longer prepared to devote a lifetime to the work. However, for the family of Ramachandra Rao, the 68-year-old Kalamkari Artist still working with Natural Dyes , it has been an involvement spanning several generations.
rangamaati has decided to honour these generations of craftsmen by adopting and promoting Kalamkari Artwork under our " ART EXCHANGE PROGRAM 2018 " Together with Your Support we could do little to promote this traditiona hertigae Art, and its Artistes. This Festive Season let us spread radiance and True sense of Celebration through adopting Kalamkari Artwork hand painted with all Natural Dyes in Cotton Sarees,
