ABOUT Chamba Rumal
It’s a research initiative which aimed at capacity building of artisans for sustenance of traditional pahari embroidery. Pahari embroidery is known popularly for its spectacular Chamba rumals, pahari cholies and other household articles. The craft was practiced in various parts in undivided Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. At present it is only survived in Chamba. Chamba rumals are worldwide acclaimed for their double sided embroidery while other articles are worked all together differently in single sided stitches.
